Day Trade

Refers to entering and exiting a stock on the same day, typically using 1000 shares.

Swing Trade

Trades may last from 2-5 days or more. You are looking for a bigger price move that you normally would in a day trade.

Daily Bar Chart

A daily bar shows the open, high, low, and  close of a day's trading activity for a stock.

Intraday Bar Chart

An intraday bar chart shows a stock movement during the day, usually with 5 minute bars.

Consolidation

When a stock trades in a tight , well defined price range for more than a few price bars.

Consolidation can be seen on both the intraday and daily time frame, simply by looking at the chart.

On the intraday basis, consolidation at the high  of the day or at the low of the day can be a potential setup to enter a trade on the break out to new highs or lows.

Price Congestion

This is when a stock trades in a sideways, choppy manner without a definite direction or trend.

It can easily be seen on a daily chart. Avoid trading stocks while they are in this mode.

Wait for the price to move out of the congestion area and begin moving before you trade it.

Bull Market

When the Buying market is more predominate than the Selling market, here are some expressions commonly used:

** Buying

** Buying Long

** Rally-Up

** Higher Highs

** Higher Low

** North

** Trending UP Day

** Bull

Bear Market

When the Selling market is more predominant than the Buying market, traders often refer to the state of the market as:

** Selling

** South

** Trending Down Day

** Short

** Selling Short

** Shorting The Market

** Lower Low

** Lower High

** Bear

** Bearish

Lamb Market

When the market you are looking at, is not in a state of massive buying or selling, the market may be basically oscillating and repeating from one point to the another point.

This may be happen for hours or even days. This is often referred to as a lamb market or a trading day.The terms for this days may be:

** Trading Day

** Lambs

** Flat

** Trading Day

** On the Fence

** Noise

** Consolidation

** Accumulation

** Bracketing
